Registration is now open for the First District’s 2026 Appellate Practice Seminar. In collaboration with the University of Cincinnati Donald P. Klekamp College of Law, the First District will host its fourth annual Continuing Legal Education (CLE) event. This in-person event is set to take place on Friday, December 4, 2026, and is open to local attorneys.
After positive feedback, this year’s seminar will include a full day of courses where local practitioners can earn 4.5 hours of general CLE credit and 1.0 hour of professional conduct credit. While attendance at the event is still free, attendees can optionally register for lunch at an additional cost.
This year’s agenda includes a case law update, a course on brief writing in the age of artificial intelligence, an overview of statutory and common law writs, an interactive presentation on important decisions released by the Ohio Supreme Court this past year, and a panel session offering a practical and insightful overview of motion practice in the First District. Additionally, Judge Ginger S. Bock will give a training course on the skills and knowledge needed for maintaining professionalism.
Due to limited space, early registration is strongly encouraged. Interested attorneys should complete the Registration Form by Friday, November 20, 2026. Those who are interested in registering for a non-refundable lunch, will also need to complete the Lunch Registration Form.
