Court Seeking Applications for Summer Internship Program

Are you an undergraduate or law student interested in how courts impact the community and advance justice?  If so, the Ohio First District Court of Appeals invites you to apply to its Summer Internship Program.

Students accepted to the program will complete a summer-long immersive judicial internship that includes opportunities to think critically about the role of law, to draft judicial documents, to research legal issues in pending cases, to observe court proceedings at both the appellate and trial court levels, to tour various government agencies that facilitate the work of the courts, and to network with members of the judiciary and the local bar.  Students will receive extensive feedback on their written work product from both judges and staff attorneys as well as a behind-the-scenes look at court operations with a focus on appellate procedure.  In addition, students will set and manage their own individual goals for the experience in consultation with supervising judges.

Interested students should submit a resume, transcript, writing sample, and cover letter addressed to Karen Lumpkins by February 15. KLumpkins@firstdistrictcoa.org
