Judge Richard Moore
On December 29, 2024, newly elected Judge Richard Moore took his oath of office. Judge Moore was elected to the First District Court of Appeals in November 2024 and took the bench on February 12, 2025. Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Melba Marsh administered Judge Moore’s oath of office in her courtroom at the Hamilton County Courthouse.
Judge Candace Crouse
On January 22, 2025, Judge Candace Crouse took her oath of office. Judge Crouse was elected to the First District Court of Appeals in November 2018 and re-elected in November 2024. Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Pavan V. Parikh administered Judge Crouse’s oath of office in the courtroom at the First District Court of Appeals. In attendance were several First District administrative staff members and staff attorneys.
Judge Terry Nestor
On February 6, 2025, newly elected Judge Terry Nestor took his oath of office. Judge Nestor was elected to the First District Court of Appeals in November 2024 and took the bench on February 10, 2025. Prior to his election, Judge Nestor served as a judge on the Hamilton County Common Pleas Court from 2021-2024. Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Pavan V. Parikh also administered Judge Nestor’s oath of office in the courtroom at the First District Court of Appeals. In attendance were his family members, including his mother and his wife, along with Judge Marilyn Zayas, Judge Jennifer Kinsley, and many staff members of the First District.
Judge Marilyn Zayas
On February 6, 2025, Judge Marilyn Zayas took her oath of office. Judge Zayas was elected to the First District Court of Appeals in November 2018 after being assigned to fill an unexpired term in 2016. Judge Zayas was re-elected to the bench in November 2024. Jackie Aguilar, Assistant General Counsel at Procter & Gamble, administered Judge Zayas’s oath of office in the courtroom at the First District Court of Appeals.
