Judge Beth A. Myers Retires from the Bench
Judge Beth A. Myers retired on February 8, 2023 after almost 20 years on the bench and over 20 years of practice.
Since graduating from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, Judge Myers has served the profession on a statewide and local level. Before being elected to the First District in 2016, Judge Myers spent more than 13 years as a judge of the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas. During her tenure at the Court of Common Pleas, Judge Myers was appointed by the Ohio Supreme Court to serve as a Commercial Docket judge, where she handled more than 2,000 business-related disputes. Judge Myers also served as Administrative and Presiding Judge for the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas in 2013. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Myers was a partner at Frost Brown Todd for over 20 years. In 2018 and 2022, Judge Myers was selected to sit as a visiting judge with the Ohio Supreme Court.
Throughout her career, Judge Myers has served the legal community and been a part of many committees and boards. She was President of the Cincinnati Bar Association from 2005 to 2006, Co-Chair of the 2008 Bench-Bar Conference, President of the Alumni Association at the University of Cincinnati, member of Miami University’s Pre-Law Advisory Board, and many more. Judge Myers has also served as a member of the Ohio Supreme Court’s Commission of Professionalism, a member of the Ohio Sentencing Data Platform Governance Board, and a member of the University of Cincinnati College of Law Dean’s Advisory Board.
Judge Myers has also received many awards throughout her professional career. Those include the Hamilton County Trial Lawyers’ 2005 Trial Judge of the year award, the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Cincinnati Law Review, and the 2017 University of Cincinnati College of Law Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Award.
Judge Myers has surely had a memorable career and her presence on the bench will be missed. On February 2, 2023, staff and judges of the First District, and Pavan Parikh, Clerk of Courts, gathered in the courtroom at the First District Court of Appeals to honor and congratulate Judge Myers on an amazing career. We wish her the best in her retirement.
