Students from St. Xavier and St. Ursula High Schools took time durng their spring break last week to visit the First District Court of Appeals. Students attended oral arguments for two cases before a three-judge panel consisting of Presiding Judge Marilyn Zayas, Judge Candace Crouse, and Judge Jennifer Kinsley. At the conclusion of oral arguments, the three judges were joined by attorney Jeffrey Cutcher and Hamilton County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Norbert Wessels for a question-and-answer session with the students. The students had many questions for both judges and attorneys about their career experience. The students were later guided on a tour through the First District’s offices by Judge Marilyn Zayas and her staff attorneys.
If students at your school would be interested in setting up a similar experience, click here for more information, or send an email to coa@firstdistrictcoa.org with your information.
